Two deformed dogs have formed an unbreakable friendship after being adopted into the same family for 5 years.
Picasso and Newt—Two dogs with facial deformities live with 53-year-old founder and director of Luvable Dog Rescue Liesl Wilhardt on their 55-acre home in Eugene, Oregon. Picasso was adopted by Liesl in 2017 after the tragic death of his brother Pablo, and then Newt came into Liesl’s home in 2021. Now, these two canines are nearly inseparable, according to their owner.
On the other hand, the one-year-old Newt lost his upper jaw after being in an accident with his mother who bit him.
“It was a miracle that Picasso survived being a baby because it was difficult for him even to suckle from his mother,” Liesel said. the upper jaw.”
Both of these precious dogs now live very happy lives despite the hardships caused by their deformities.
“Both Picasso and Newt adore people, so in public, they are very outgoing, attention-seeking, and love to greet people.” Lyles said, “Most people take instant double shots and then stare at the dogs for a while, trying to make sense of what they’re seeing.”
“They’re in no pain; they’ve adapted to their physical challenges and are doing almost everything they want to do.”
“I loved Picasso Newt from the start because Newt loves to play and wrestle and he has a very good nature. And this friendship has deepened as Newt matured, I love Picasso and Newt with all my heart, they are both incredibly loving, happy, intelligent, and playful dogs,” Liesel said. I continued.
Liesl Wilhardt was willing to give her followers a glimpse into the life and friendship of her two deformed companions, through videos of their daily activities, such as feeding and playing with each other, as well as hiking and harvesting berries.
Picasso even has his own Instagram account, which has nearly 400,000 followers.
Liesl spoke in 2017, “Picasso is a very special dog, with an exceptional temperament,” I fell in love with him as soon as I saw him. He is trained as a certified therapy dog and also serves as a Luvable Dog Rescue Ambassador.”
At the time, she said, Picasso was spending his days helping people with disabilities or illness as part of Liesl’s rescue program.
“I love this boy so much, and he’s had a very difficult life so far. I want the rest of his life to be amazing,” he said.
