Ariana Grande has been breaking records left and right following the release of her fifth studio album, Thank U, Next, and now she has a social media record as well.

The 25-year-old singer is the most followed woman on Instagram, amassing 146,311,467 followers, passing Selena Gomez (146,274,798) as the most followed female on the social media platform, according to Billboard.

They both still trail soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo who has 155,894,992 followers as the most followed person on Instagram, who passed Gomez back in October.

Grande has amassed over 13 million of those followers in just the past four months alone, which helped her dethrone Gomez.

Those followers come in the wake of her last two albums, Sweetener, released in August 2018 and Thank U, Next, which debuted in February 2019.

With the upcoming launch of her Sweetener/Thank U, Next tour, which kicks off in March, she could could put even more distance between herself and Gomez.

One of Grande’s Instagram Story posts today showcased another record she earned from the success of Thank U, Next.

She also took to Twitter today, where she has another 61 million followers, to announced she will be the headlining act of Manchester Pride.

‘Manchester babes, i’m so thrilled to be headlining pride,’ Grande said. ‘My heart. I cant wait to see u and i love u so so much.’

The Manchester Pride concert will take place August 25, including Years & Years, Bananarama and Kim Petras.

The concert will take place more than two years after the Manchester bombing in May 2017 during a Grande concert at Manchester Arena, where 22 people died.
