The Colombian looks at her new life since the breakup with Gerard Pique.

Shakira’s life has taken a radical turn in recent months. Around a year ago the Colombian singer was settled – as long as her work allowed it – in the city of Barcelona, where she lived with her two children and her then partner, the soccer star Gerard Pique, and now everything has changed.

After the controversial split between the artist and the former Barcelona centerback, she decided to pack her bags and start a new life in America.

Meanwhile the Catalan chose to continue with his business career in Barcelona and continue with the expansion of the ‘Kings League’, which ironically has also recently landed on American soil.

Now, in an interview with Hola magazine in her country, Colombia, the artist wanted to review her current situation and reveal all about her new life in the U.S. city of Miami.

In North America, the singer has declared that she has rediscovered her musical side, which is made clear by her success, as well as being much calmer than in Spain.

“In Spain, the children could not go to school quietly and the situation we lived with the press, in which they were chased even to the door of their school, was not bearable,” said Shakira, who at the same time wanted to emphasize that she was not talking about her fans in the country, who had always supported her.

A quieter life

Shakira is very satisfied with the direction her life is taking, moving away from her old routine in Barcelona.

“I dedicated myself to raising my children and supporting my ex-partner’s career,” she admits.

Her new routine is much calmer than in the Spanish city, highlighting the better quality of life of her two children.

“I have never seen my children so happy,” she admitted.

“They go to their extracurricular activities without anyone chasing them, not like in Barcelona, where we had paparazzi at the door every day.

“They lead a free and normal life as two ordinary children, not as children of celebrities.”
