Avril Lavigne Brings ‘Rock N Roll’ to ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’
Kanye West wasn’t the only musical artist upping the entertainment value of ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ last night (Sept. 26) — Avril Lavigne was there in person to rock the house with a pair of performances.
While the late-night host kicked off the program dishing on Yeezy’s crazy Twitter rants against him, Avril was the one to see it out, singing new songs ‘Rock N Roll’ and ‘Here’s to Never Growing Up’ to a large audience outside the studio. Both tracks appear on Avril’s self-titled studio album, out Nov. 5.
Dressed in her finest black-and-silver pop-punk finery, Avril, her backup dancers — and, most awesomely, the giant bearshark from her ‘Rock N Roll’ video (he’s alive!) — started the set while perched on a Jeep before making their way to the stage mid-song. Well-timed smoke bombs punctuated the punky track. The bearshark made it to center stage for ‘Here’s to Never Growing Up,’ carrying a big boom box and generally adding to the festivities.
It was the day before her 29th birthday — what better way to get the party started than with a bearshark DJ?!?
