Angel Reese Demands Apology From Haters as Kim Mulkey, LSU Rumors Come to an End
Angel Reese is back with a bang, dragging Virginia to the ground. The much-awaited return is finally through as the Bayou Barbie puts her feet down on the court after two weeks. The Tigers have been holding the fort in her absence without losing any of the 4 games. Moreover, her return feels more of a celebration as her period of absence has been pivotal for the Lady Tigers amidst all the wild speculations brewing on the internet.
Angel Reese making a strong statement
The speculations have been surrounding the LSU, especially Angel Reese and Coach Kim Mulkey, for a better part of November. However, now that the star player is back, she’s asking for a long and overdue apology from those who said they won’t make it. Taking the hustle to the internet after the win, Angel shared a post on Instagram with the caption, “Just make sure that apology is as loud as the disrespect,” giving a smooth comeback to all the haters.
Angel stunned the audience as the Pete Maravich Assembly Center echoed with cheers from fans who came to watch the significant ACC/SEC Challenge. Despite getting victorious in each of the last 4 games, there was a lot of criticism going on around the Tigers. As a result, both the team and Angel had a lot to prove to those unsure onlookers.
The first quarter moved a bit slowly. However, the Lady Tigers shifted into third gear dominating on both ends of the court. The team played with unmatched physicality, toughness, and energy. However, for Reese, the night wasn’t quite the one with dominating shots, however, she did grab 5 rebounds in the first 10 minutes and made 16 3-point shots, contributing to her total score of 19 points and 9 rebounds. Her teammate Aneesah Morrow scored a 19-point and 15-rebound efforts, making her defensive presence felt on the Hokies. Meanwhile, Mikaylah Williams compiled 20 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists, and again proved why she is one of the most remarkable prospects in the game.
There is another reason why this win was a special one for the LSU.
Kim Mulkey hitting another milestone
Evidently, LSU’s matchup against Virginia Tech became a significant one after the Tigers won the challenge. The squad donned purple shirts with Mulkey and Reese sharing a long embrace. Moreover, the team made rounds around the court and greeted fans sitting across with high-fives, fist bumps, and celebratory hugs.
Turns out, this victory is Coach Kim Mulkey’s 700th career win, making her the fastest in both men’s and women’s basketball to reach the 700 mark as a head coach.
The Lady Tigers took the winning joy to the internet, cheering their beloved Coach Mulkey. The LSU’s Women’s Basketball page on X shared the head coach’s pictures with the caption, “THAT’S OUR COACH. The quickest ever to 700 wins!”
LSU is a team constantly proving itself in trying times and always gaining an upper hand through its hard work and sheer willpower. The recent episode of resurgence involving Angel Reese and Kim Mulkey just proved that.
