A young boy from Ohio raised $80,000 to buy bulletproof vests for police dogs.
As WSYX reported, 9-year-old Brady Snakowski of Strongsville started a campaign to raise money for bulletproof vests that would protect K9 officers. As of Wednesday morning, he has raised $79,805 of his target goal of $85,000.
It is stated in the description on the page that Brady’s initial goal was to raise money to purchase one ballistic vest for a K9 in need. Thanks to the support of his family, the community and Line Of Fire Defense Systems Brady was able to go even further by donating not only four ballistic vests for the K9s.
According to the Bradys K9 Fund website, they have already donated 84 vests to K9s. The website emphasizes their belief that canine police officers should receive the same level of protection as their human counterparts.
Their mission prioritizes providing officers with as much protective equipment as possible so they can safely return home at the end of their shifts.
Brady’s mother, Leah Tornabene, is actively helping him in this endeavor.
