Ever since I started writing about dogs, the one thing that has always fascinated me is a dog’s capacity for love, even when they have endured so much in their life.
A lot of dogs start out as strays before they are inevitably taken to an animal shelter where they wait for adoption. But, not every one of them is so lucky.
Some can spend months or even years living in the harshest environments before help arrives and it’s just a heartbreaking thing to witness.
In this story, we will talk about a very adorable dog who spent a long time living on the streets, but still very much enjoyed human attention.
The Happiest Stray Dog

When this beautiful dog was first spotted by construction workers performing their duties in that area, they did not mind him at all.
In fact, it was only thanks to them that she managed to survive, as they would give her some leftover food so she could eat.
However, on one uneventful day, this happy stray would suffer an accident where he broke his leg.
While the workers there hadn’t noticed much, a woman living nearby saw the dog and his injury, so she decided to call for help.

The sweet golden retriever was taken by her to a veterinarian clinic where they got an X-ray of the fracture, and it was clear to them that it was going to take a while before she recovered.
She underwent surgery that would repair her broken bone and help her heal as soon as possible.

To help her, one of the construction workers had volunteered to foster her in his home until she was feeling better.
During her stay with her new foster parent, they tried everything to find her a permanent home, but it seemed impossible at first.
When they could no longer care for the dog, they called Howl Of A Dog for help. They agreed to care for her and do their best to find her a new family.
The dog, now named Honey, had spent quite a while running, playing, and just enjoying herself as much as possible.

The workers from the organization had established that she was likely 3 years old when she came to their care, which means that she was likely on her own for a very long time.
Despite all of the turmoil, Honey remained a very happy dog who just enjoys being around other humans.
While she is still looking for a family, I have no doubt that some family will step in and cherish every moment with her. It’s so amazing to see that her story has somewhat of a happy ending.
