The actress shared the reason she refused Marvel Studios ‘ invitation to act in superhero movies in the past.

According to Comicbook , when appearing on The Howard Stern Show , actress Emily Blunt talked about the time she continuously received invitations to appear in Marvel Studios’ superhero movies . The star was once considered to play Black Widow in Iron Man 2 and Peggy Carter in Captain America: The First Avenger but she both refused.

Emily Blunt said she feels popular culture is running out of new ideas about superheroes. Therefore, an actress will only accept this type of role if she feels that the character has something unique.

“It’s not that I despise these roles. I really like Iron Man and was still crazy about the character when Marvel Studios offered the role of Black Widow. I want to work with Robert Downey Jr., that would be great…

But at the same time, I also wonder if superhero movies are right for me. It’s not my career priority. I do not like it. Really not,” the beauty shared.

She also expressed her personal opinion on entertainment products revolving around the superhero theme: “It has been exploited to the point of exhaustion. It makes us feel overwhelmed, not only on the big screen but also on television.

I say that doesn’t mean I will refuse superhero roles my whole life. It’s just that I aim for a very unique and impressive character type. If I meet a character like that, I will be very satisfied.”

On social networks, superhero fans expressed their hope to see Emily Blunt transform into Sue Storm in the remake film project about the Fantastic Four team produced by Marvel Studios. John Krasinski, Blunt’s husband, is also at the top of the list of fans wanting to play Reed Richard, Sue Storm’s teammate and partner.

Regarding this, in an interview conducted in 2020 with Comicbook , Blunt once said: “I’m not sure. If you want this to happen, you have to discuss it with Feige (Marvel Studios president), right?

The fan’s ideas are adorable and surprising. But I still just consider it an assumption until Marvel Studios announces the official name. I do not know”.
