I’ve done quite a bit of research on the topic of abandoned dogs, and the common theme that I have found that connects all of them is that more often than not, many of them seem to be abandoned and tied up somewhere for people to see.
This is a big problem, as not only is it indicative of the fact that many owners couldn’t turn to their local animal shelter for help, but also because it means that there are too many strays that need help.
In this story, we will talk about a dog who was similarly treated by being tied up and left on his own.
Adorable New Mail

A few months ago, a family in Southern California was awoken by noise in their yard. They didn’t think much of it at first, but then they heard a dog crying and decided to investigate.
They went outside and realized there was a big white dog tied up to their mailbox. The family was confused as to how he ended up there, but they didn’t waste any time helping him.
It didn’t take them long to figure out that he was really scared, so they just left some food and water for him.
The family called Logan’s Legacy for help. The founder of the organization, Suzette Hall, sent one of her assistants, Tracey, to the scene.
Hall said for The Dodo: He was totally withdrawn. He would back up from anyone who would try to talk to him or anything.
Tracey was determined to help him, so she sat down and tried to slowly gain his trust.
Hall continued by saying: She just sat there quietly and spoke to him. Eventually, she was able to get another leash around his neck, and then she unhooked the horrible leash that he was left tied with.
A Trip To His New Future

When he was finally free from his horrible leash, Tracey led the dog, now named Hercules, to her car.
They drove to the Camino Pet Hospital where he got a full checkup and treatment for any problems he might have endured.
When he finally recovered, the clinic staff determined that he was ready for adoption. In the meantime, they found a foster family for Hercules, and he fell in love with them immediately.
Hall said: Finally, we found a foster family, and it was like love at first sight. He literally melted into their daughter’s hand.
He met a new dog brother there and they got along really well and just loved spending time with everyone.

Sometime later, however, Hercules was diagnosed with Kennel Cough and they had to separate him from his new foster siblings.
Hall said: He got so sick, and they couldn’t have him around their dog. But they’ve gone over to visit him. He perks up every time he sees them.
Hercules loves visits more than anything, and would always cheer up when his foster family came. While he was recovering there, the foster family tried to look for his permanent home.
A Brand New Start

They knew that he deserved a good and loving family… someone who would love him as much as they do.
Hall said: He’s such a loving boy. He’s a little shy at first, but when he warms up, all he wants is love. He’s gonna need the most amazing home.

Some time had passed, and on July 13, 2023, a family had decided to adopt Hercules and take him to his forever home.
His new family just adored him and everyone loves spending time with him. There is no doubt in my mind that he has finally found someone who will cherish him and give him the love he deserves.
