Stray dogs roam the streets, looking for scraps of food and shelter. Every day, they hope to be noticed and given the help they need. They are tired of being ignored and overlooked by people who pass them by.
While doing their best to fight for their survival, they dream of having a forever home and feeling loved for the first time in their life.
Denim, one of these stray dogs, spent a lot of time living on the streets, facing danger day after day. He was hungry and injured, but he never lost hope of being rescued.
How long is he going to wait to get the help he needs?

A kind-hearted person noticed the delightful pooch while he was wandering the streets, and immediately contacted Pennsylvania SPCA – a non-profit organization located in Philadelphia. The rescuers picked him up and brought him to the shelter’s hospital.
His caregivers were deeply saddened to see the terrible condition he was in.
“He was emaciated, weighing in at just 30 lbs. He was dehydrated. He had deep wounds to his front legs, his coat was dirty and his nails were overgrown,” the shelter wrote on their Facebook page.
Denim received medical treatment for his wounds, but his emotional wounds were much deeper, and it was clear that he would need more time to heal them. He was so frightened and fearful that he hesitated to go outside.
Feeling Loved For The First Time

The shelter staff members took great care of him, giving him all their love.
The sweet dog learned what love felt like for the first time in his life, and his fears started dissipating. His tail was wagging, and he finally felt safe.
His shelter friends were relieved to see that he enjoyed eating, and that he began to regain his strength.
As time went by, his confidence increased. He was no longer the fearful pup who entered the shelter.
“It is always so rewarding to see dogs transform from shy, shutdown beings to silly, happy ones. And of course the physical transformation is just as remarkable — you wouldn’t even guess he was the same dog,” said Gillian Kocher, Pennsylvania SPCA director of public relations.

Denim was bursting with puppy energy, and he became the happiest pup among all his shelter dog friends.
As much as he enjoys his time at the shelter in Philadelphia, Denim wishes to find his forever home. His shelter friends got very attached to him, and they hope that the precious pooch will soon discover life outside the shelter’s walls.
He deserves to have a family who will adore him and give him the home he always wanted.
