Carrying 17 bullets, the abused dog in Lebanon had a completely different life in the UK, becoming the pet of a new owner.
Lebanon is a war-torn country, the life of pets in this country is therefore also difficult.
Like many other pitiful cat and dog fates, Maggie is a 5-year-old dog living on the streets of Lebanon.
A few months ago, Maggie was found tied to a box, missing an ear, blind and deaf. At that time, Maggie was pregnant and had no one to take care of her.
A man with compassion happened to see Maggie while walking down the street.
He couldn’t bear to leave Maggie, so he transferred the dog to the Wild at Heart Foundation, a UK-based rescue organization dedicated to helping homeless pets find owners.
The dog’s bad health
The doctors check on Maggie’s health.
After examining Maggie’s health, rescuers were shocked to discover many signs of severe abuse that Maggie had suffered.
In total, Maggie has been shot 17 times in the last two years. There were 17 bullet holes in Maggie’s body, leading the doctors to believe that his survival was clearly a miracle.
Maggie underwent a complex treatment that included many different surgeries. His ears and eyes were sewn up, and internal and external wounds were also treated.
Maggie’s health gradually improved. The rescue organization began publicizing Maggie’s photos and circumstances, hoping someone would decide to adopt the dog.
Empathizing with Maggie’s special situation, Kasey Carlin, a 25-year-old woman has registered as the new owner.
Carlin is not shy about Maggie’s health problems, the obstacle between them is only a distance of 2500 miles.
Despite this, Carlin still accepts to pay large sums of money to help transport Maggie to England. The unfortunate dog was on a plane for the 2,500-mile journey to a new home.
Become the new owner’s pet
Maggie posted information to find the owner.Carlin had a difficult time emotionally, but as soon as she saw Maggie at the airport, her spirits improved immediately. Carlin recounts:
“I was in tears when I first met Maggie at the airport. My family sympathizes with Maggie’s special situation. I contacted several rescue organizations to ask about special care for the baby.
They said let the baby lie in the house to get used to the environment. But I found it strange that Maggie got used to her new family so quickly.
She quickly found a place to sleep on her own and signaled for me to take her out to the toilet. Maggie was clearly well-educated.
It was unimaginable what circumstances had led to Maggie’s dire condition. It is possible that the family of the former owner of the baby was unable to continue to nurture.
Maggie roams the real world and suffers terrible abuse from someone. Who would heartlessly want to kill this pure and innocent being with 17 bullets!”
Maggie’s new family.
Despite suffering many injuries in the past, Maggie has always been friendly with people.
Currently, Maggie is enrolled in classes to become a therapy dog.
Every week, Maggie will visit hospitals and schools with her owner to help patients and students improve their mental health.
Maggie’s owner, Kasey Carlin, has also been in better spirits since adopting the dog.
