Messi was not even in the top 3 voting for the 2023 MLS (USA) Outstanding Player title, with the winner being fellow Argentinian player Luciano Acosta of FC Cincinnati.

This is the remaining major title in 2023, but Messi missed it after receiving the 8th Ballon d’Or award on October 31. The famous Argentine player joined Inter Miami Club in July and left a huge impression on American football.

Messi is on the nomination list for the 2023 MLS Best Player award. However, the voting results announced on November 28 showed that the famous Argentine player is far outside the top 3. The winner was FC Cincinnati player Luciano Acosta with 60.37% of the votes. Runner-up Denis Bouanga of LAFC received 14.97% and Thiago Almada of Atlanta United finished third with 6.46%.

Player Acosta deserved to win the title of MLS Outstanding Player, scoring 17 goals and having 14 assists, helping FC Cincinnati reach the semi-finals of the MLS Cup tournament against Columbus Crew on December 2.

According to AS newspaper (Spain): “The fact that Messi was not in the top 3 votes for the title of Best Player of the MLS tournament caused a lot of surprise to some people. But this is reasonable. Messi just made his mark. The biggest impression was helping Inter Miami win the Leagues Cup, when he scored 10 goals in 7 matches. And in MLS, Messi scored on his debut when Inter Miami met New York Red Bulls on August 27.
