Cardi B shocked fans on Wednesday when she revealed that she secretly had surgery this summer.
The 30-year-old singer shared on social media that she had biopolymers fillers taken out of her bottom four months ago adding that the operation was ‘crazy.’
‘In August I got surgery and I removed 95% of my biopolymers… if you don’t know what it is, it’s a** shots. It was a really crazy process,’ she said in an Instagram live video.
The crooner went on to explain that she felt pressured to have larger curves when growing up in New York City as she was body shamed for being thin, and the performer has since regretted it.
The rapper also warned her followers to be careful when getting plastic surgery, including the popular treatment The Brazilian Butt Lift.
She got right to the point in her video, which has since expired.
‘All I’m going to say is that if you’re young, if you’re 19, 20, 21, and sometimes you’re too skinny, and you be like “OMG I don’t have enough fat to put in my a**” so you result to a** shots, DON’T!’ warned the pinup known for her curves.
She also said fans wanting Brazilian Butt Lifts (BBL) should be careful.
‘When it comes to BBLs, if y’all want advice from me, before you get your BBL done you have to make sure your blood levels are all right,’ said the crooner.
‘If a doctor says your blood levels are too low or you have diabetes or whatever, don’t do it,’ she cautioned.
She has had other surgeries in the past: The star has admitted to breast implants, and she has said she wants a tummy tuck.
What are biopolymers?
Biopolymers are polymers produced from natural sources either chemically synthesized from a biological material or entirely biosynthesized by living organisms, according to ScienceDirect.
The use of biopolymers from different sources has been investigated for many years for pharmaceutical and biomedical applications.
But sometimes the polymers don’t do well in a human body, it has been claimed.
Per NCBI, one of the clinical consequences, foreign body modelling reaction, may be a precursor of ASIA (Autoimmune/Inflammatory disease induced by adjuvants) syndrome.
