The mysterious 1 billion year old circular mountain massif in Russia concentrates many precious metals such as platinum ore and gold.

Strange story: The 1 billion year old mountain is filled with treasures of solid gold, platinum and precious stones

Located in the remote Khabarovsk region, about 600km southwest of the Sea of Okhotsk, about 570km southeast of Yakutsk is the Kondyor Massif massif in Russian territory .

Some people say Kondyor Massif is like an ancient volcano because it was formed 1 billion years ago! But some people say that mountain massif was built by aliens!

Kondyor Massif.

The Kondyor Massif massif is special because it is circular with a diameter of 8 km, rising 600m high and 7 times larger than the meteor crater in Arizona, USA.

Satellite images show that the mountain’s geological structure is “unlike anything else in the world” because within this mountain is a treasure trove of gold, gems and platinum.

According to experts, the reason for the mountain massif’s special shape is molten magma from volcanic rocks that crystallized below the ground more than 1 billion years ago, creating such a perfect circle.

They undergo long-term surface erosion. Harder than the surrounding ground, the Kondyor Massif is the top surface edge of a column of rock that extends deep into the Earth’s crust to become the permanent remnant of a partially eroded dome.

Around the massif there are streams containing platinum deposits in the form of crystals, grains and bars, along with gold and tens of thousands of other precious minerals.

Some crystals are very sharp while many others have rounded edges. In particular, Kondyor Massif is home to many extremely rare and best quality gold-coated platinum crystals in the world.

The massif is also famous for a special mineral called Konderite, made of copper, platinum, rhodium, lead and sulfur. For that reason, Kondyor Massif is also known as “treasure mountain”.

The amount of platinum mining at Kondyor Massif amounts to 4 tons per year. Platinum crystals from the Kondyor Massif first appeared at the “Gems and Minerals” exhibition in the US in 1993.

If you are adventurous, you can only admire this special Kondyor Massif from afar, in the city of Khabarovsk, about 1,100 km away.

Currently there is no tourism infrastructure and to visit this area, you need to obtain a special permit from the host country’s government.
