Actor and comedian Vir Das enjoys a huge fan base worldwide. His quirky statements and tweets often grab the headlines. He recently took to his official social media handle to comment on the trolling Deepika Padukone received after she opened up about being in open relationships during her recent appearance on Koffee With Karan season 8. For those who don’t know, the actress’s confession caused quite a stir on the internet as she revealed that she and her hubby Ranveer Singh were in an open relationship when they first met.

Known for his quirky and witty statements, Vir was quick to take his official X (formerly known as Twitter) handle and expressed how people should hold a moment of silence for all the men who trolled the actress because they were upset. Explaining himself further, he wrote, “Moment of silence for all the men who are upset that a Bollywood star way out of their league was casually dating for a while, and wasn’t as committed as their imaginary girlfriend is to them.

Netizens were quick to take to the comment section of his tweet to laugh off his tweet. For the unversed, during the interaction, Deepika told Karan Johar how she and Ranveer weren’t exclusive until he proposed to her. Quoted by Indian Express, she shared, “I was going through a phase where I said ‘I just don’t want to be attached, don’t want to be committed’. And I had fun. And then he comes along, so I didn’t ‘commit commit’, until he proposed to me. There was no ‘commitment as such. Even if we were technically allowed to see other people, we would just keep coming back to each other.” 
For the unversed, the couple fell in love with each other while working together for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s 2012 movie Ram-Leela. They got married in 2018, six years after dating each other. Being together for more than a decade, they truly are the epitome of couple goals and have set the bar high for all the lovers out there.

On the work front, last seen in Karan Johar’s comeback directorial Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, Ranveer will be next seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Baiju Bawra. He also has Singham 3 and Don 3 in his pipeline. On the other hand, Deepika Padukone has Hrithik Roshan starrer Fighter and Prabhas starrer Kalki 2898 AD in he pipeline.
