Carmelo Anthony says there’s the word ‘discipline’ and then there’s ‘LeBron James discipline.’ And the difference between the two is what we’re witnessing right now from the Los Angeles Lakers superstar.

Playing in his 21st NBA season, King James looks like he is still in his early 30s.

And barring any unfortunate injury, he is easily a lock to play in his 22nd season next year. Bron could surpass Vince Carter’s record for most seasons played in the NBA by returning for a 23rd year.

According to Carmelo, the secret to LeBron’s longevity is his discipline.

“I guess the difference between ‘Bron and everybody else is his discipline,” said Melo.

“Everybody can say ‘I wanna do that’ and ‘He got the blueprint’ but are you disciplined enough to follow that blueprint? I was able to see it firsthand.

I thought I was a disciplined guy like this guy is ‘disciplined’.

When he locks in, he locks in head to toe. For an athlete who is aspiring to follow him, that thinks ‘I could do 20 years’, it takes a lot to do that.

It’s not too many people who say they play two decades in a sport that’s only 75 years old.”

He is playing at a high level on a contender

But LeBron’s longevity is just one thing. His ability to play at a high level is another.

When Vince was in his Year 21 season, he averaged only 7.4 points on 17.5 minutes per game.

Meanwhile, James is putting up 24.7 points, 7.6 rebounds, and 6.6 assists per game while playing 33.9 minutes per outing.
