The Taylor Swift fan community is mourning the loss of two young fans who tragically passed away in separate incidents following the pop star’s Eras Tour show in Rio de Janeiro.

Gabriel Milhomem Santos, 25, was fatally stabbed hours after attending Swift’s concert at Nilton Santos Olympic Stadium, while 23-year-old Ana Clara Benevides suffered a fatal health emergency during the same show.

Santos, a dedicated Swiftie, was attacked on Copacabana beach in the early hours of Sunday, November 19. The Mirror reports that he was resting on the beach with his cousins after attending the concert and decided to go for a swim. The assault occurred while he was asleep, and Santos sadly did not survive the stabbing.

In a touching gesture, his family has decided to lay him to rest in the outfit he handmade specifically for the concert, honoring his love for Swift’s music. Described as “cheerful, affectionate, and extremely studious,” Santos’ death has left his loved ones and the Swiftie community in profound grief.

The second tragedy involved Benevides, who fell ill during Swift’s performance and later passed away due to cardiorespiratory arrest. Her father expressed his heartache, stating, “I lost my only daughter, a happy and intelligent girl.”

The family is now seeking answers regarding the circumstances of her death, particularly regarding the event’s water policy and the medical assistance provided.

Swift, deeply affected by these tragic events, addressed the loss on social media, expressing her grief and condolences to the families.

“I can’t even tell you how devastated I am by this,” she wrote, adding that the loss felt deeply personal. In response to the extreme heat conditions at the concert, which reportedly affected both fans and Swift herself, the singer postponed her second show in Brazil to ensure the safety and well-being of all attendees.
