There are several talented players on Kim Mulkey’s Lady Tigers roster. However, Angel Reese and Aneesah Morrow put on an exceptionally outstanding display of performance. On one hand, Reese has been the team’s key player and also holds a record for double-doubles in a single season. Last season, she became the NCAA’s women’s basketball Most Outstanding Player as she played a key role in the Lady Tigers’ national championship run. She also holds a record for scoring double-doubles in a single season. Interestingly, she locked her 34th double-double by hooping a game-high 15 points and 10 rebounds in 2023. It was the most achieved by any woman in a single season of the NCAA basketball.
Although she did remain absent in the last few games played by the Lady Tigers, however, she is a crucial element of the Lady Tigers. In addition, she is best known for her on-court toughness and leadership skills.
Now, moving on in our analysis, let’s look at Aneesah Morrow’s performance so far.
Aneesah Morrow’s performance this season
Morrow began her collegiate career with the DePaul Blue Demons, however, she later moved to LSU to play with the Lady Tigers. Last season, she became the WBCA and USBWA National Freshman of the Year.
Impressively, Morrow has scored 2 40-plus point games along with a 35-point game. Also, she is known for her ability to score with an average of 26.1 points, while excelling in rebounding skills with 12.1 rebounds, per game respectively.
Her resilient skill of boxing out position makes her an elite rebounder on the Lady Tigers’ roster. Morrow’s dedication to refinement makes her a valuable asset to her team.
Now, with that being said, both the players play an essential role in LSU’s head-high treading into the season. And whoever Kim Mulkey’s star player is, it is known that the defending champions are a strong team because they work together in a symphony, as at the end of the day it is a team sport.
