Shaquille O’Neal became a huge Angel Reese fan after she led Louisiana State University to a national championship, so much so that the Hall of Famer named her to be the greatest athlete to come out of LSU. On the most recent episode of his podcast, Shaq even applauded Reese for being a better athlete than him.

“She’s probably the greatest athlete to ever come out of LSU sports. You heard it here first. Male and female. Yes! Guess what – she delivered. She delivered that package. See, a lot of us got the package, and we still got the package in our truck. She delivered that package,” O’Neal said.

Shaq on Reese vs. Clark trash talk
Shaq, who never won a national championship with LSU, was proud of his former team for beating Iowa to claim its first NCAA women’s national championship.
He even jumped to Reese’s defense amid her trash-talking battles with Caitlin Clark.

Safe to say, Reese’s trash talk to Clark was simply the product of a hyper-competitive game. While the Iowa star was sensational, dropping 30 points against Louisiana State, her team came up short against Angel Reese. The latter put up 15 points and ten rebounds to help LSU top Iowa 85-102 in the National Championship game.

Reese speaks highly of her time in NCAA
After emerging as one of the best upcoming talents in the country, the LSU sophomore revealed that she is in no hurry to join the WNBA. Moreover, Reese has successfully landed NIL sponsorship deals with brands like Coach and Amazon and is currently the highest-earning women’s college basketball player.

“The money I’m making is more than some of the people that are in the league that might be top players,” Reese said on the ‘I AM ATHLETE’ podcast.
