Manchester United superstar bags a hat-trick of assists on international duty in comprehensive win

Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes inspires Portugal to a record 9-0 victory against Luxembourg in the Euro 2024 qualifiers

Portugal achieved a resounding 9-0 victory over Luxembourg during tonight’s European Championship qualifying match at the Estadio Algarve, with Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes delivering an outstanding performance during the game.

With Cristiano Ronaldo suspended, the Portuguese ace played a significant role in tonight’s victory as the Selecao maintained their smooth progress in the Euro 2024 qualifiers.

Roberto Martinez’s team has maintained a perfect record in their last six matches, not allowing any goals while scoring 24 themselves. This latest win stands as the country’s biggest-ever victory.

Portugal are currently leading Group J with a five-point advantage over Slovakia, whom they defeated in Bratislava on the previous Friday. Luxembourg holds the third position, trailing the latter by three points.

As stated by the club’s official website, Fernandes, who scored the winning goal against Slovakia, provided three assists and also scored one himself as the Reds dominated the match.

The United maestro single-handedly generated seven scoring opportunities in only an hour of play while asserting his dominance in midfield.

The Red Devil’s captain had an outstanding game and clearly stood out as the player of the match. His remarkable passing range and ability to execute precise passes were on full display.

He delivered two nearly identical assists with crosses in the first half, both expertly finished by Goncalo Inacio.

The highlight of Fernandes’ performance was his assist for Diogo Jota’s goal in the second half. The United No. 8 spotted Jota making a well-timed run into open space and delivered a beautifully lofted pass right to his teammate’s feet. The Liverpool forward did the rest.

Fernandes then himself scored a goal in the 83rd minute of the match. Goncalo Ramos, Ricardo Horta, and Joao Felix added to the goal tally.

The 29-year-old United playmaker’s current form is truly exceptional. He is unplayable and is absolutely unselfish on the field.

Throughout this match, he continued to be a driving force for Portugal, showcasing his extraordinary passing abilities, much like he did in the previous game against Slovakia, where he scored a stunning winning goal.
