Abandoned and left for dead in a mortar can on the side of the highway, young Charlotte is a story of resilience and hope. The call reached UPA just in time, as the unfortunate puppy had been left there for at least three days, with no way of escaping. Completely paralyzed, she crawled into the mortar can to hide in the rain, trembling and sobbing.
Charlotte had a strong will to live despite her difficult circumstances, and it was clear from her eyes that she still had hope. She was immediately brought in for tests after her rescue, which indicated that she was anemic and had a tick case. She was also dehydrated and her blood levels were low. Despite this, Charlotte still ate well and had a strong will to live.
Charlotte was named by the UPA team and quickly became a favorite with everyone who met her. Her gentle and endearing personality captivated all who saw her, and she quickly became a symbol of hope and resilience.
Charlotte’s health improved greatly as a result of the hard work and dedication of the team, and she was soon able to go home. She was still in therapy, but had become very confident in being able to explore her new room and make friends with the other dogs at the centre.
Then came the great news: Charlotte got a new wheelchair, allowing her to run and play with her friends for the first time in her life. The change in her has been nothing short of amazing, and it is clear that she has found her true home.
Charlotte’s story is a reminder that there is always hope, no matter how bad our circumstances. Anything is possible with love, dedication and a little support. We wish Charlotte the best in her new life and know her courage and resilience will continue to inspire others.
