Goodwill employees have seen a variety of strange items donated over the years, but handing over the actual skeleton hiding in the closet was a first for one employee, who opened a donation box and knew he had to call the police
Police were called to a Goodwill store after an employee got the shock of a lifetime when they opened up a donation bin and found an actual human skull inside.
The skull was found on September 5 at a store. It never made it onto the sales floor. Instead, it was taken by local authorities who conducted an investigation to ensure the skull wasn’t obtained through foul play. It turned out that the skull was in a container of other taxidermied objects and turned out to be ‘historical,’ though there’s no identifying information on it.
A picture shared by the Goodyear Police Department shows a browned skull with some upper teeth still remaining and a false eye in the left socket. “It’s creepy! That’s crazy we come here all the time,” two regular shoppers told local Fox affiliate KSAZ-TV.

“After speaking with the Medical Examiner’s Office, preliminarily, it appears this human skull is historic and has no forensic significance, meaning there appears to be no associated crime,” Goodyear Police said. They added: “So many questions need to be asked. Who was it? Who brought it? Are there cameras? A full-on investigation [is needed] into what happened.”
Another regular shopper at the store in Arizona, US, near Sarival Avenue and Yuma Road, said: “I’ve never found anything remotely close to that. That’s really scary.” Lisa Berry from the Goodyear Police Department said that the skull was taken to the Maricopa County Medical Examiner’s Office. Berry said: “At this point, and this is preliminary, it appears to be historic, ancient, and does not appear to have any forensic value.
While this is likely a case of another goth-at-heart, who loves this very realistic art, recently, an amateur taxidermist has left Facebook users horrified with a bizarre rat phone case. Jessie Gillespie has gone viral after sharing her latest invention which uses the animal’s tail as a “wrist strap.”

Many people turn to upcycling and DIY to save a few pennies but the thrifty woman may have gone too far creating a product out of a dead rodent. Jessie, a farmer from Seattle, Washington, has constructed a “functional” phone case out of the deceased animal, leaving Facebook users shaking their heads at the horrifying item.
Images show the hollowed-out rat’s furry skin stretched out over the back of an iPhone, with its flattened face stuck in the corner. Although the rodent’s tiny feet and eyeballs have been removed by Jessie, its whiskers and ears remain intact. “People either love it or hate it,” she told NeedToKnow.online, going on to explain the process.
