Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce fought through an injury to score a touchdown with his team securing a win over the Minnesota Vikings after one of their players sent him a Taylor Swift threat

Travis Kelce was able to beat Minnesota Vikings cornerback Byron Murphy to the endzone for a touchdown after the same player threatened to use Taylor Swift’s name to stop him.

Swift had been at the past two Kansas City Chiefs games to cheer on Kelce, as rumours of their blossoming romance swept the sport and showbiz worlds. The pop superstar was in attendance at MetLife Stadium as the Chiefs withstood a brave New York Jets performance to edge a 23-20 win on Sunday Night Football.

Kelce suffered an injury in the game but was able to come back in the second half to score a game-defining touchdown against the Vikings, which the Kansas City Chiefs went on to win by one score.

On that touchdown, Kelce was able to get wide open for a catch and make his way into the endzone from just three yards out, with Murphy the nearest defender who got to him too late to make the tackle.

It did not appear that Murphy had too much to say to Kelce, however, it did look as if Kelce may have had some words to aim towards Murphy after the touchdown was scored.

Kelce had a strong game, with 67 yards on 10 catches and a touchdown, with Murphy struggling to guard him throughout the afternoon.

When asked about the storyline between Kelce and Swift prior to the game., Murphy said, via ESPN : “Oh man, the social media is going crazy. And I’m not hating against it.

“That’s the world we’re living in. Is she going to come to this game?

Kelce looked like he said something to Murphy after the touchdown
“We’re locked in, but that would be something. I’ve been watching her since I was a kid. That would be cool, for sure. Not for him, because we’re going to try to get our hands on him in front of her.”

He added: “I’m going to say something to him to get him going.”

Swift was not in attendance in Minnesota, after the two had spent time together in New York prior to the Chiefs’ win over the Jets.

The pop superstar had first appeared at the Chiefs’ home win against the Chicago Bears, where she sat with Travis’ mother. The following weekend she had been at the Jets game in New York with a large entourage, including Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively, Hugh Jackman, Sophie Turner and Paul Rudd.

In that last game, NBC cut to the singer 17 times during the second game she attended and even Travis later admitted the NFL was “overdoing” the coverage of his new love interest.

He said: “Damn, that’s crazy. That’s like once a drive.”
