$340M Movie Fast X Bringing Back Paul Walker’s Brian O’Connor So That Fans Can Say Goodbye, Confirms Vin Diesel
Since its inception in 2001, the Fast and Furious series has won the hearts of moviegoers everywhere. Numerous prequels, sequels, and spin-offs have been released over the years, bringing with them new characters and setting details for the property.
Fans’ hearts were broken when Paul Walker, who portrayed Brian O’Conner, passed away in 2013. However, it appears that the franchise is going to offer fans some sort of resolution, as it has been confirmed that Brian O’Conner will be showing up in the next few Fast and Furious film.
The Legacy of Paul Walker
Paul Walker
The Fast and Furious movies would not have been the same without Paul Walker. In the first seven films, he portrayed Brian O’Conner, a retired FBI agent turned street racer. In 2013, Walker died in a single-vehicle collision in a speeding car. The production team had to work out how to finish filming without their star while production was still underway.
The movie was finished with CGI and footage of Walker’s siblings so that Brian O’Conner could have a proper sendoff. The closing scene of the film, in which O’Conner drives off into the sunset, was a touching tribute to the late actor.

Saying Goodbye to the Fast and Furious Legend
Vin Diesel, who has also been in the lead since the franchise’s inception, told Total Film that series regular Brian O’Conner will make a cameo. When asked why the studio decided to keep Brian O’Conner alive in the wake of his death in 2013, Diesel expressed that everyone “couldn’t imagine this saga ending without truly saying goodbye to Brian O’Conner.”
“That moment in 2013 when the world was struggling with his loss, the studio made a very bold and righteous and daring decision to keep Brian O’Conner alive. I will give you this without spoiling anything: I couldn’t imagine this saga ending without truly saying goodbye to Brian O’Conner.”

Fans’ excitement over Brian O’Conner’s comeback in the next Fast and Furious film has left them wondering what that might look like. It’s still not obvious how the filmmakers will bring Brian back for the new film, but they could follow the same formula they used in Furious 7.
Fans have been hoping for a resolution for the beloved character ever since the franchise had Dom Toretto name his son Brian in Walker’s honor. Some of Walker’s siblings may appear in the film as well as CGI to help wrap up O’Conner’s story.
Fans will be deeply affected by the addition of Brian O’Conner to the forthcoming Fast and Furious films. The series has exploded in popularity, and a big reason for that is Brian O’Conner. Fans have noticed his absence in the sequels and are looking forward to an ending for the much-loved figure.
