Before Dwayne Johnson Typecast Himself As The Savage Anti-Hero In Almost Every Movie, This $58m Movie Gave Us A Very Different Performance
Whether it’s an all-out battle with a military-level threat, jumping off of skyscrapers, fighting alongside a huge monkey, or going on a spoofy adventure, Dwayne Johnson is your man. The actor is just 51 and has established himself to be the most sought-after outlandish action movie star.
2013 was a career-defining year for Johnson. He had headlined a total of 5 films all in the same year. While he started to dive deeper into his hunky action-loving star image, the 1 film showed an actual opposite character in his acting.
Dwayne Johnson
G.I. Joe: Retaliation was the film that changed the actor’s path toward films that showed him as an indestructible and unstoppable force. He has been riding that tide ever since, with films like Rampage, Skyscraper, San Andreas, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, Fast & Furious franchise, and his more recent DC banger Black Adam.
The Film That Showed How Vulnerable Dwayne Johnson Is
A premise that followed around Dwayne Johnson’s ability to act in tense situations without much use of his brute force seems like a concept that he would never agree to, today!
The film Snitch talked about the horrific atmosphere surrounding drugs and involved his character John Matthews’ son being convicted of possessing drugs.
Still from Snitch (2013)
Johnson’s character is shown as a father who would go to great lengths to protect his child. Making mistakes, not having it all figured out, and showing a vulnerable side to the character sounds too unbelievable for his type.
The film was pushed by Johnson himself along with his then-wife Dany Garcia, but could only manage $58m at the box office.
Dwayne Johnson’s Snitch May Never Happen Again
Currently, the actor has been riding the wave of being a bad*ss hunk who can probably handle whatever threat he faces. But Snitch was a completely different take on his personality.
The film surely had its fair share of action sequences, but Dwayne Johnson took it to another level with nail-biting scenes pushing us to contemplate what comes next. Looking back at this film after a decade, we can all agree that he may never agree to such a film.
Black Adam
With a habit of making bold claims for his films, he has been delivering on his promises so far. But considering his stardom, Johnson can’t possibly go back to playing a toned and muted character depicting a normal suburban guy.
But if it ever happened, expect a massive budget and two hours of Johnson throwing people around. Obviously, there will be explosions, tanks, and some of his long-time friends like Kevin Hart to join him in the action.

Dwayne Johnson made headlines in the recent past for burying the hatchet with Fast & Furious King Vin Diesel. That has possibly led him to make a special cameo at the end of his latest Fast X. The film was released back in May and is now available on Digital.
