Former WWE star has long been dogged by claims of steroid use
Chael Sonnen recently took aim at Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, accusing the WWE icon-turned-actor of dishonesty regarding his alleged use of steroids.
In a video posted to his YouTube channel, the former UFC middleweight title challenger discussed how ‘The Rock’ and his family consistently denied any involvement with steroids, despite the evidence to the contrary.
“Steroids, which is something ‘The Rock’ has denied. His father denied, his uncles denied, the whole family’s denied,” Sonnen explained in a YouTube video.
“It’s one of those things…in all fairness, it wouldn’t be that big of a deal if you weren’t out there telling people about nutrition and telling people about your diet, telling people about your workouts.”
Rock was compared to ‘Liver King’
Continuing his critique, Sonnen highlighted the potential ramifications of misleading followers, drawing a parallel to popular influencer Liver King.
Liver King was a popular influencer who made videos of his apparent natural physique with tips on diet and exercise.
He consistently refuted claims that he was so vascular as a result of steroid use, even going on camera to deny the claims, only for his supplier to out him online with evidence.
As such, Sonnen highlighted the issue of influencing people’s training and dietary choices while potentially omitting details about steroid use.
“As soon as you start doing that and try to influence and motivate and bring people along the journey but you lie to them about the journey, right? I mean, he’s Liver King. You’re Liver King all over again. It’s the exact same thing.”
The video raises questions about whether Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson will address the allegations and provide further clarity on steroid use in the future.
Sonnen‘s remarks suggest a desire for transparency, particularly when it comes to public figures influencing others in areas like fitness and nutrition. The debate surrounding ‘The Rock’s’ alleged steroid use may continue unless he chooses to offer additional insights or clarification.
