And when it comes to popularity, the most famous podcast is The Joe Rogan Experience. Despite starting in 2009, The Rock never appeared on it. After Hulk Hogan, it seemed to be the right time to get the Hollywood star on the show in 2023, and it revealed some major secrets that shocked WWE fans.
Dwayne Johnson finally breaks his silence about the Joe Rogan podcast
Currently, in the podcast world, Joe Rogan is the biggest name. Getting stars from the sports world as well as celebrities, his subscribers near 14.9 million, and his total views are around three billion. Many stars have claimed to want to be on the show despite not being invited. The Rock finally made his long-awaited appearance on the show, and the fans loved it.
The November 15, 2023, episode titled 2063 – The Rock – The Joe Rogan Experience would feature The Great One. The topics of discussion revolved around Dwayne Johnson’s personal and professional life. Fans expressed their shock at some of the stories The Rock told about his time in the WWE, his life, and his father. However, after the podcast aired, Johnson did not reminisce on the experience immediately which rubbed some fans the wrong way.
Taking to social media on Instagram, five days after appearing on the show, The Rock shared a post. Johnson captioned it, saying, “A great hang with @joerogan for our 3 hour chat!!” The video accompanying the post was the segment where he described how his father, Rocky Johnson, reacted to him wanting to join the wrestling business. This segment was among the few that left fans shocked.
The caption also encompasses what Johnson said about his father and his reaction. The Hollywood star claimed that his father did not like the idea of Johnson joining pro wrestling. He claimed that his father wanted him to continue his football career.
Johnson owes a lot of his career to his father
As mentioned on the podcast, Dwayne Johnson owes a lot of his success to his father. While he did not immediately agree to train Johnson, in time, he did. Everything The Rock knew about wrestling came from his father.
