Hailey Baldwin defended herself after a commenter wrote that she couldn’t possibly appreciate the little things in life because of her husband’s wealth

Hailey Baldwin is standing up for herself after she was mocked for saying she was “grateful” for the little things in life.
The model, 22, shared a series of three reflective videos to her Instagram story explaining she was thankful to be able to enjoy her lunch in the sunshine, and was making efforts to be appreciative of the little things.
“Taking time to really be grateful for the smallest things in life goes a very long way for you soul,” she wrote. “Never hurts to remind yourself to have gratitude, even for the littlest of things.”
“Today I’m grateful to be sitting in the sunshine eating lunch…may not seem like the biggest deal but reminding myself how wonderful it is made me smile,” she added. “Thank you God for the little things… The smallest things in life will make you happy if you let them.”
The thoughtful musings were then compiled into an Instagram post by a fan account but it wasn’t long before a follower left a snarky comment slamming Baldwin over husband Justin Bieber’s estimated fortune.
“My husband is worth 265 million but it’s the little things that make me happy ha ha ha,” the commenter wrote.
Baldwin took notice, and quickly clapped back, reminding the user that others should not judge what they don’t know.
“Money doesn’t = happiness. At all. You can be the wealthiest person in the planet and be miserable. Not fair to judge people’s circumstances from the outside.. am I not allowed to be grateful to sit in the sunshine and enjoy my day like a regular person?” she responded.
Baldwin’s response comes days after she shared a sweet photo of Bieber, whom she married last fall, and professed her love for him.
“My love,” she began, “you are an incredible man, you make me a better human being, you make me happier than I’ve ever been.”
“Insanely proud of who you are and who you’re becoming,” the model wrote. “I love you more every single day.”
The post included a photo of the “Love Yourself” singer, 25, posing in front of a green screen in a tie-dye t-shirt from his clothing line, Drew.
A source previously told PEOPLE that Baldwin has been an incredible support system for the pop star as he focuses on a new chapter in his life, making his mental health a priority.
“Hailey is able to support Justin in a way that no one else has been able to,” a Bieber source said. “She only comes from a place of love. She doesn’t want anything from him except for him to be able to be the best person and husband. Justin is overwhelmingly grateful for how patient and supportive Hailey is.”
Bieber acknowledged his wife’s influence in an Instagram poem and message he shared earlier this month that praised Baldwin for her continued support.
“I fall more in love with you every day! You have walked hand and hand with me as I continue to get my emotions, mind, body and soul in tact!” Bieber wrote. “You have given me so much strength, support, encouragement and joy. I just wanted to publicly honor you, and remind you that the best is yet to come! Have a great shoot today my love!”
