Hailey Bieber is having a particularly hard go of it at the moment, after an alleged feud between she and Selena Gomez blew up on TikTok.
The socialite was intensely trolled on Instagram yesterday (Wednesday, 29 March) when she uploaded a special tribute post to her husband Justin Bieber on his 29th birthday.
Her post came soon after it was announced that the remainder of Justin’s ‘Justice’ world tour would be cancelled – presumably due to his ongoing recovery from Ramsay Hunt Syndrome (RHS).

In a sweet dedication to her husband, who is no doubt going through a pretty tough time, Hailey shared a collection of photos of Justin, writing: “29 never looked so good ☺️Happy Birthday to you best friend!
“Words couldn’t possibly sum up all that you embody.
“So here’s to more joy, more travel, yummy food, adventures, more peace, fun, and most of all more love.”
While a few of Hailey’s followers joined her in wishing Justin a happy birthday, the vast, vast majority of comments were from enraged Selena Gomez fans.
If you’re not a regular on TikTok, and haven’t been keeping up with the drama, there’s a lot you’ve missed here.
But the long and short of it is: people are analysing the life out of Hailey right now, and are almost certain that she has been throwing not-so-subtle digs at her husband’s ex-girlfriend, with the help of friends like Kylie and Kendall Jenner.

Perhaps it’s because Selena hasn’t bitten back at any of these supposed digs; or because most fans have grown up with Selena, from her very early days on Barney & Friends to her Disney Channel stint on Wizards of Waverly Place; or maybe all the evidence really is stacked against Hailey on this occasion, but almost everyone has suddenly made it their business to defend Selena to the ends of the earth.
That’s why, when Hailey made that birthday post for Justin yesterday, the comments that followed weren’t much of a surprise.
In fact, many were shocked that she didn’t opt to limit the comments, or mute them altogether.
Among all of the ‘#TeamSelena’ comments – and there were a lot of those – were some truly scathing messages from riled up fans.
“Oh s**t, forgot to unfollow you,” one person joked.
“Yeah immediate unfollow,” agreed a second.
A third, truly brutal comment read: “He was in the right place at the right time. When a man wants a wife they take what they got.”

And a fourth noted: “She posts this for him, yet he didn’t even speak out publicly to defend her.”
Honestly, a lot of these comments were particularly hateful, and not the sort of thing anyone deserves to hear, not matter what the people of TikTok think they’ve done.
Whatever side of this Selena v Hailey ‘drama’ you stand on, I think it would do us all well to put the phone down, take a deep breath, go outside, and touch some grass.
