In her 60 years of being an actress, Helen Mirren has not once asked, let alone begged for a role. Even if it were a role she really wanted she has always believed the perfect roles always come to you. Despite keeping firm on this rule after all this time, Mirren finally broke it off to star in the hit Fast and Furious franchise. When attending a function where Vin Diesel was in attendance too, Mirren let her love for cars take over the best of her.
“I got introduced to him. And I was shameless: “Oh God, I’d just love to be in one of your movies! Please let me be in it.” And then Vin, with that beautiful, deep voice of his, said: “I’ll see what I can do.” And he did it for me. He found this great little role for me, which was perfect.”
Well, we sure are glad that Mirren did let her deep affection for driving influence her, or else we would not have gotten the classy and charming Queenie.

The Emmy-awardee actress Helen Mirren debuted as the mother of the Shaw brothers, Queenie in The Fate Of The Furious in 2017. The actress who quite literally begged for the role for the love of driving, was disappointed when she didn’t get to drive at all. With a laugh she recalls,
“Of course I was not driving! That was the problem, [They] put me in the back of an ambulance and I was imprisoned, totally not driving.”
However, this didn’t last long as she got the chance she desperately wanted in the ninth installment of the franchise. Mirren finally landed the opportunity to drive in a Fast and Furious-like manner on the streets of London, evading the cops in a charming Noble M600. A match made in heaven is how Helen Mirren describes her time driving the extremely rare British supercar, Noble M600.
