Given her strong acting career, it would be easy for her to get her hands on good projects. However, Mirren once opened up about begging Vin Diesel to get a role in the famous Fast and Furious saga. Not just that, but he was the same person whom she can’t help but gush over him.

The 77-year-old actress, Helen Mirren has been candid about gushing over her Fast and Furious co-star, Vin Diesel in a 2015 appearance on the Late Night With Seth Meyers.

She shared, “I’m a huge fan of Vin Diesel.”

She further explained the timeline which made her fall for the Saving Private Ryan actor.
“It came from me watching him make a speech once at some ceremony. He was just so smart and so funny and so cool, and I just sort of fell a little bit in love with him right there and then.”

Though her confession didn’t just end with this as she opened up about begging Diesel for a role in the Fast and Furious saga.

The English actress has been outspoken on several occasions about being cast in the Fast and Furious franchise all thanks to her co-star.

In an interview with PEOPLE, she revealed fancied herself to be a fast driver which is why she thought it “would be so cool to be in a film that was just about fast driving.”

Due to the same, she seized the chance to get herself involved with the action franchise which is headlined by none other than Diesel.

“I saw Vin and introduced myself and shamelessly begged him to put me in one of his movies. He very sweetly did and I am eternally grateful to him.”

She shared the same experience in an interview with THR as she revealed that she was at some function when the duo was introduced to each other. She got “shameless” and approached the actor to get the role. It was a success as she eventually made her debut in the saga with the 2017’s The Fate of the Furious.
