"I’ve been basically begging..": After Being a Part of $2.7 Billion Avengers Movie, Brie Larson Finally had Her Dreams Come True With Vin Diesel's Fast X

Brie Larson is MCU’s Captain Marvel, one of the strongest heroes in the pantheon. Her solo film grossed more than a billion at the global box office and even though she had limited screen time in Avengers: Endgame, her entry scene was hailed by many. So where does she go after starring in one of the biggest movie franchises in the world? Right to another blockbuster franchise. This time it’s Fast and Furious. Larson joins Fast X as Tess and it looks like the Oscar winner had no qualms about joining the car movie saga, in fact, she was begging for it.

Sitting down for an interview with Total Film, Brie Larson shared her views on joining the tenth film, Fast X, in the Fast and Furious franchise. The actress shared that she always wanted to be a part of the story, and begged to be included. As per her, these are the films that make one go to the theater. She said:

“This has been my dream. I’ve been basically begging to be in these movies for years now. Even though I’ve been acting since I was a kid, getting to be part of something you’ve watched your whole life and that you love is an amazing feeling. They’re films that make you want to go to the theater. They’re films you want to go to with your family. That matters!”

The Fast and Furious saga of films has grossed more than $6 billion at the box office. What started as movies about street racing have evolved into something else entirely and now the franchise has its own lore that it expands in every film.

Also, the franchise’s theme about family has made the films a meme in internet circles, yet it continues to reach high box office goals every time. Larson thinks that it is this family concept that makes the car saga so different from other films.Brie Larson Admires The Family Theme of Fast And Furious

During the interview, Brie Larson talked about the family theme of the Fast and Furious films and admitted that she not only admired that but expressed that it’s what made the franchise different from the rest. She said:

“Making ‘Fast X’ was different to any other movie because it’s so solely focused on the concept of family. As soon as it was all figured out that I was going to be in the film Vin texted me asking to go to his house for dinner.”

Larson also thanked Vin Diesel for inviting her to his daughter’s birthday party and making her feel included. After all, she was joining the series in its 10th film. In return, the Marvel actress did something special for him. She said:

“We had this great conversation and I ended up going to their house many times, even going to his eldest daughter’s birthday party so I got to become close with them. It’s all part of Vin’s process; by the time my feet were there on that set, I felt like I belonged to be there! I felt safe. And I actually based my character off of his daughter.”

It seems like Larson really did become a part of the large family that Diesel takes care of and expands in every film of his. Fans of the franchise expect Fast X to open at close to $100 million and even Variety has termed the film a safe bet in terms of its box office draw. It remains to be seen if it can live up to these predictions or not.
