Selena Gomez was all smiles as she returned to the spotlight in her first performance since completing treatment after a hospitalization late last year
She’s back!
Selena Gomez officially returned to the spotlight on Friday, as she made a surprise appearance during DJ Snake’s Coachella set to perform their hit song “Taki Taki” alongside Cardi B and Ozuna.
This is Gomez’s first performance since completing treatment following her hospitalization late last year. (She previously joined Taylor Swift on stage in May 2018 during her Reputation tour stop in Pasadena, California.)
Smiling throughout her time onstage, Gomez, who made her first Coachella appearance as a performer, opted for an all white ensemble, wearing a frilly top with a crisp blazer and a pair of matching pants.
Cardi, also 26, went on to share a fun backstage moment from Friday’s show as she posed alongside Gomez and DJ Snake.
“Coachella and I love them,” she captioned her photo.
Ozuna also shared a sweet behind-the-scenes photo of himself and Gomez, as he sent the pop star a loving message.
“A beautiful woman with a lot of energy I’m going to you and I’m here with you God bless you my love!! @selenagomez,” he wrote.
Gomez is set to make an appearance at WE Day California on April 25, to celebrate youth leading lasting social change, PEOPLE previously confirmed exclusively.
“Every year, WE Day leaves me feeling inspired and hopeful. The youth have an incredible positive and passionate attitude for making real change in the world,” says Gomez in a statement. “I’m so proud to celebrate young people’s year of social change and to remind them that together, we are an unstoppable movement dedicated to a brighter and better tomorrow.”
The 13 Reasons Why producer was hospitalized twice in October, both times for a low white blood cell count, which can be a side effect for kidney transplant patients.
During her second visit, Gomez suffered a panic attack and subsequently headed to a treatment center on the East Coast. “She has had a tough few weeks and the panic attack in the hospital was the tipping point,” said a source.
Gomez — who previously underwent a kidney transplant due to complications from lupus — has been open about her battle with depression and anxiety.
After completing treatment, Gomez went on to break her silence in January, as she addressed her challenging year.
“It’s been awhile since you have heard from me, but I wanted to wish everyone a happy new year and to thank you for your love and support. Last year was definitely a year of self-reflection, challenges and growth,” she wrote.
“It’s always those challenges which show you who you are and what you are capable of overcoming. Trust me, it’s not easy, but I am proud of the person I am becoming and look forward to the year ahead. Love you all,” Gomez concluded.
Since then, the “Back to You” singer has been spending quality time with her loved ones, including longtime BFF Swift. In February, Gomez also attended the wedding of pals Courtney Barry and Sam Lopez in Downtown Los Angeles.
“Selena’s feeling much better and looking forward to getting back to normalcy,” a source previously told PEOPLE. “She’s spending time with friends and family.”
