In an interview with Fast Company, Selena Gomez shared about the reason why she quit social networks after becoming the most followed woman on Instagram in 2018. Accordingly, she admitted to breaking up. with Justin Bieber influenced her decision.
“My heart was just broken, I didn’t feel the need to see what people were doing,” the former Disney star recalled, “Then there were moments where I didn’t feel positive about my appearance.” because of what I saw on Instagram. I wished I had a body that looked like that.”
Also in the interview, Selena admitted that her changing body has affected the way she sees herself. Previously, the Lose You To Love Me singer had “the body of a teenager” and when her body changed, negative thoughts appeared.
“Now there are no sample clothes that fit me, which makes me feel embarrassed. Although isn’t it unrealistic to expect a normal woman’s body to not change?” , Selena continued.
At the present time, Selena Gomez affirms that she no longer feels insecure about herself like before. She even puts herself in a different category compared to stars like Beyoncé and Adele. “I look at someone like Beyoncé and I’m amazed, every part of her body is perfect. I’m not like that and that’s okay,” the star shares her new perspective, “I am me , a bit goofy but also likes to be sexy and fun, and I also want to do good things. We have goddesses like Beyoncé and Adele, but I’m happy to be a friend of you”.
