Selena Gomez ditched the pants—and her signature brunette hair. Gomez was photographed in her new blonde look yesterday, wearing just a Valentino blazer with black sheer tights and Jimmy Choo heels in Paris. She accessorized with an Aupen bag. Prior to this sighting, Gomez teased her hair transformation on her Instagram Story.
Gomez has been blonde before, making a splash when she debuted light locks in April 2021, and when she first went platinum blonde at the 2017 American Music Awards. She has maintained her signature brown hair in between brief blonde periods.
She later told Vogue that she felt more adventurous as a blonde: “I think I’m definitely more of a character when I’m blonde,” she admitted in September 2021. “I felt like I could do crazy things with my hair or try new looks with my makeup. It was just so much fun. I think that for a little bit [I could maintain the color as a natural brunette], it was hard to keep up with, but yeah, I don’t know, I felt so cool and edgy. It was just a whole phase I went through. I’m honestly missing it, not gonna lie. Blonde Selena is not gone forever. I will tell you that.”
Gomez’s big Paris look comes at the same time a source gave Entertainment Tonight an update on Gomez’s dating outlook. The source explained, “Selena is casually dating and doing well. She is doing her own thing and doesn’t feel any sort of pressure to be in a relationship. She is just focusing on what’s best for her right now and has been very in tune with maintaining her own boundaries. Her friends and family support her and just want her to be happy.”
