Back in February 2013 Jim Carrey rocked up to Elton John’s AIDS Foundation Academy Awards Viewing Party wearing a pair of scarily realistic, giant fake feet and tiny Angel wings.
He posted on Twitter after the party:
“Elton’s party was fun. My big feet and little angel wings were an expression of my somewhat awkward spiritual journey. I’m a #Strangel. O;^P”
The feet must’ve been comfortable because a few weeks later Jim wore them again to his appearance on the David Letterman show where he was promoting his latest film, The Incredible Burt Wonderstone (2013).
Jim Carrey probably won’t be making any Oscars best-dressed lists this year, but he didn’t have to worry about anyone else wearing the same outfit!
The Yes Man star wore enormous prosthetic feet and tiny angel wings to Elton John‘s AIDS Foundation Academy Awards Viewing Party.
“Goin’ to Elton’s party. Great cause!” the 51-year-old actor tweeted. “Wearing the perfect outfit to express my awkward spiritual journey. ;^}”
While there, he mingled with stars like Steven Tyler, Dave Grohl, Randy Jackson and, of course, Elton John.
“Elton’s party was fun,” he wrote afterwards. “My big feet and little angel wings were an expression of my somewhat awkward spiritual journey. I’m a #Strangel. O;^P”
And while some members of the media were quick to say Carrey was wearing “Hobbit feet,” the man himself confirmed (with an emoticon wink, nonetheless) that his oversized appendages were not an homage to Middle-earth.
Hey, a guy can wear enormous fake feet for any reason he likes!
