“There’s nothing like walking out in front of the madness”: John Cena Chooses WWE Over Movies Despite $2M Fast X Salary
John Cena is one of the most popular celebrities in the world right now. Before being a successful actor and a part of the Fast and Furious franchise, Cena was a wrestler like the world had never seen before. The American actor first rose to fame back in 2001 after he made his debut at World Wrestling Federation (WWF, which later turned into WWE) and captivated the crowd with his charm and persona. Cena also became the face of the company throughout the decade and is often considered one of the greatest wrestlers of all time.
Apart from his distinguished wrestling career, John Cena has also made quite a name for himself in Hollywood. He appeared quite recently in Fast X along with Vin Diesel where he reprised his role.

Although he is an amazing actor as well, Cena recently revealed in an interview that he likes WWE more than acting because of the fans.

In a recent interview with Josh Horowitz, John Cena revealed that he loves WWE more than acting. For the 16-time world champion, the fans are the deciding factor about what he loves more. Cena explained that there is a different kind of energy when he performs live at WWE arenas that the sets of the movies just don’t provide.
Cena said that “There’s nothing better than having a great film because you know it’s not just you, it’s a collective body of work” but he still likes WWE more. While talking about the WWE universe and the fans, Cena further added that “There’s nothing like walking out in front of the madness. It’s awesome.”

John Cena is making big bucks with the Fast & Furious franchise
The Fast & Furious franchise has been a global sensation since the first movie, The Fast and the Furious came out back in 2001. A lot of big names have been a part of the series over the years including Dwayne Johnson and Gal Gadot. John Cena also became a part of the franchise back in 2021 after he played the role of Jakob Toretto, Dominic and Mia Toretto’s estranged brother in F9: The Fast Saga.

According to sources, Cena allegedly made $1 million for his role in the movie. That is a lot considering that Michelle Rodriguez who plays the role of Letty in the series only earned $2 million even though she has been a part of the franchise since the very first movie. John Cena returned to the franchise to reprise his role in the Fast X movie and allegedly got almost $2 million for the same. This means the actor almost doubled his salary in just a span of 2 years. To put things more into context, Cena allegedly got paid more money than Tyrese Gibson who plays the role of Roman Pearce in the series.
Fast X is currently playing in theatres.
