Vin Diesel took to Instagram on Wednesday to remind his fans – who criticized his physique when unflattering photos were snapped of him in October – that he’s still got it.

“Xander Zone … Returning,” the actor captioned the shirtless beach photo referring to his upcoming film XXX: The Return of Xander Cage.

Though Diesel, 48 – who got emotional during a tribute to his late friend and costar Paul Walker at the People’s Choice Awards Wednesday night – looks proud to show off his washboard abs, the father of four kids with wife Paloma Jim nez, 32, wasn’t all that concerned when the attention was on his weight gain.

“How do I feel about people being so focused on that? I’m okay because I’ve had the best body in New York City for decades,” he previously told Complex magazine.

The star even showed off his body in PEOPLE’s Sexiest Man Alive issue in November following the Internet frenzy.

“When you become a father, you’re less vain. Your joy comes from your children,” he told PEOPLE. “My favorite role in life is being Daddy.”
