Zayn Malik took a moment to thank his fans for their continued support in a rare, heartfelt message posted on social media.

“I would like to say thank you to everyone that has supported me throughout this amazing journey, especially to my fans who I owe my life to,” he tweeted over the weekend. “Love and adore you and see everything you do for me.❤️”

Malik, who started his career in 2010 as a member of One Direction, has remained mostly out of the public eye in recent years, only tweeting one other time this year.

While many fans were thrilled to finally hear from him, other people thought the message was his way of saying goodbye to music.

“i think you forgot to add ‘can’t wait to show you guys what has been in the making’ bro don’t scare me like this pls im a overthinker,” one person tweeted back.

“conflicted between feeling concerned at the vibe and pride/happiness at the words,” another wrote while a third added, “I don’t know how to take it Z. it’s so confusing. I honestly hope you’re just thankful for the support and are thinking of releasing your stuff soon. if not, it’s okay the music industry was never your high priority and we’ll love and support you forever!”

Malik, who last released music in 2021, is rumored to be working on his highly anticipated fourth studio album but no solid details have been released.

The singer has also been confronted with ongoing speculation about a possible One Direction reunion.

In August, he teased fans by posting a video singing the band’s 2014 single “Night Changes.” The video quickly took the internet by storm given Malik’s rocky history with his bandmates, which he cut ties with in 2015 when he left the band.

Although he doesn’t share most of his personal life with fans, the “Pillowtalk” singer was recently romantically linked to Selena Gomez.

The “Only Murders in the Building” star, 30, was allegedly seen packing on the PDA with Malik, also 30, while on a date in March.

In a now-viral TikTok video, a woman claimed that her friend — who works at a celeb-loved New York City restaurant — saw the stars openly “making out” after arriving “hand in hand.”

The woman later told Page Six that the rumored couple arrived at peak dinnertime and didn’t seem to mind the other patrons watching them canoodling at their table.

Although the pair’s date took many fans by surprise, their inner circle wasn’t shocked to learn the pair potentially rekindled after having hooked up in the past.

“They had a thing years ago, when Taylor [Swift] and Harry [Styles] were dating [in 2012],” a top music industry source spilled, referring to Gomez’s best friend and Malik’s former bandmate.

“It doesn’t surprise me at all that they’re potentially together [today].”
