Katy Perry has sold the rights to her entire music catalog to the tune of $225million nearly 20 years after starting her recording career.

The 38-year-old Teenage Dream singer reached a deal with Litmus Music, who now owns the rights to all five of her studio records, according to Billboard.

Said deal means that Litmus Music now owns the Harleys in Hawaii hitmaker’s stakes to her masters, as well as the publishing rights to all five of her albums.

Universal Group will continue to own Katy’s masters.

The raven-haired beauty signed her first record contract in 2004 but first broke through in the music scene back in 2008 with her hit single I Kissed A Girl.

Ever since her breakthrough musical debut, the Santa Barbara born superstar has made history multiple times with her single and album sales.

According to Katy’s judge bio on the American Idol website, she is one of only five music artists in history to have sold 100 million certified units with her digital singles.

Following the release of her 2010 sophomore album Teenage Dream, Katy became the only female artist to tie with Michael Jackson with five number one singles from the same album.

However, it’s been three years since the global pop star has released a full-length album.

The entertainer and business mogul branched off into other projects, including serving as a judge on American Idol.

The move comes just months after Justin Bieber did the same thing selling his entire music catalog featuring songs from his entire 15 year recording career – for a whopping $200million.

The 29-year-old Canadian crooner sold his music rights to Blackstone-backed Hipgnosis Songs Capital for over $200million the company announced in January.

Sources also told Variety at the time that Bieber’s songs will continue to be administered by Universal Music where he has been throughout his career.

Meanwhile career life aside, Perry was married from 2010 to 2012 to Russell Brand – who was recently accused of rape and sexual assault.

While the Dark Horse songstress has kept her silence regarding the swirl of controversy surrounding her ex-husband, she did note in a telling 2013 Vogue interview that she had shouldered a lot of responsibility regarding her divorce until she, ‘found out the real truth’ about Russell.

However, the Last Friday Night singer decided at the time that she would keep the ‘truth’ locked away in ‘safe for a rainy day.’

The reality television personality moved on from Russell with Lord of the Rings star Orlando Bloom.

The couple have been engaged since 2019, sharing one daughter together that they christened Daisy Dove.

While there’s no new studio album on the horizon for the mother of one in 2023, she did release anniversary editions of One Of The Boys, Teenage Dream and Prism in June.

While individual copies of each anniversary album are still available on Katy’s website, the box set is completely sold out.
