The Roar singer joined two Capitol Records execs at the unveiling of the label’s star

She was forced to cancel a commitment due to a family emergency days after Donald Trump won the US presidential election.

But Katy Perry returned to the spotlight on Tuesday to help her music label Capitol Records receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

The Roar singer looked like she meant business as she stood with her hands on her hips and flashed a peace sign as she stood by the shiny star.

Katy was looking fierce in a chic white and black long sleeve jumpsuit, which clung to her slight frame.
The star finished completed the smart look with black heels and blinging David Webb earrings.

Her make-up looked as flawless as ever and she wore her dark locks scraped back into a sleek low bun.

She later posed with two Capitol Records execs as they all held up an award that read: “Capitol Records. Celebrating 75 years of recorded music from 1942 to 2017.”

The pop star was all smiles at the event despite cancelling plans last week.

Katy was due to perform at the event held in Shenzhen in China, but took to Weibo to let her Chinese fans know she wasn’t able to attend due to a crisis at home.

In a post on her official account on the Chinese app, she wrote: “Regretfully, I must cancel my appearance on the Alibaba Double 11 due to a family emergency.

“I am very sorry to disappoint my fans and look forward to seeing you in China soon (sic).”

The event’s organiser Alibaba said in a statement: “Alibaba and all of her fans in China are naturally very disappointed.

“We would like to send Katy our best wishes at this difficult time, and hope that we can see her in China soon.”

The 32-year-old pop superstar, who backed Hillary Clinton throughout the US presidential election, has spent the last week protesting against the newly appointed President of America Donald Trump, and has urged the Republican candidate to “rise up” to his job.

Alongside a heart emoji and a set of praying hands, she wrote on Twitter: “Gonna cry my false eye lashes off tonight.”

She also retweeted a series of messages from other Twitter, urging the electorate to “come together”.

The messages read: “Be tired. Be mad. Be honest & concerned. But be not afraid. Rest up. Be safe. Come together. Construct. Know your surroundings. Be creative … Lets put the evolution in revolution (sic).”
