It is a bit of a change of pace for Katy Perry, who embraces all things rural and wild, if the artwork for her upcoming album is anything to go by.

The singer, who sported animal prints for her recent video for single, Roar, looks stunning in the shots as she poses in a meadow surrounded by butterflies for her album, Prism.

The brunette beauty stands among pretty wild flowers while her hair is kept natural and wavy .

The star tweeted on Monday: ‘In just a few hours when the ITUNES store turns you will be able to preview 90 seconds of EACH song on #PRISM Who’s ready for the light?!’.

The 28-year-old, who is famed for wearing cartoon-like outfits and bright colours, ditches her old look in favour of something much more calm and natural.

In one image, the singer is wearing a simple brown cardigan and figure-hugging floral dress as she parades in a wild-looking field.

Katy, who is dating fellow-singer John Mayer, also appears to be wearing very little in one picture, apart from a simple pair of cross earrings.

She told MTV News that she chose Prism as the album title because she ‘actually finally let the light in’.

Adding: ‘Then I was able to create all these songs that were inspired by letting the light in and doing some self-reflection and just kind of working on myself’.

 She also teased about her new single, Unconditionally, telling the website: ‘It’s a love song and it’s different from Roar.
‘I think it’s a universal love song that everyone’s going to be able to relate to no matter the age, no matter male or female. It’s my favourite song off the record.’

The star, who used to be married to comedian Russell Brand, is also lined up to perform at MTV EMAs in Amsterdam next month, where Will Ferrell is lined-up as a special guest as the infamous Ron Burgundy.

Prism will be released on October 22.
