Australian designer label Alice McCall has caught the eye of an American pop sensation.
Katy Perry wore the brand’s orange Celestial Creature Swing Dress and Pant, to a YouTube fan experience in Los Angeles on Wednesday.
The 34-year-old got her hands on the pieces in advance, having only been shown on the runway at Mercedes-Benz Australian Fashion Week earlier this month.
Katy teamed the dress and pant, retailing for AU $495 and $450 respectively, with Giuseppe Zanotti platform heels and drop earrings.
The Roar singer styled her blonde tresses in soft waves, and complemented her attire with a matching orange eye shadow.
Designer Alice told The Daily Telegraph’s Confidential on Saturday, that she ‘connected with Katy around five years ago when she was in Australia touring’.
‘There are a lot of synergies between the brand and her music,’ she added. ‘It’s fun, it’s spirited and she always looks amazing in our designs.’
It’s not the first time an American songstress has requested to wear pieces from an Australian designer label.
In April this year, Taylor Swift opted to wear Zimmermann’s AU $795 Heathers Flounce dress, to Gigi Hadid’s 24th birthday party in New York.
The 29-year-old country pop sensation teamed the thigh-skimming design with a red blazer and pink velvet strappy heels.
Taylor carried her belongings in a pastel blue crossover bag with a cat’s face emblazoned on the front, and added bling in the form of flower stud earrings.
The Shake It Off artist tied her blonde locks into a low ponytail and her makeup palette included a bold red lip and winged eyeliner.
Founded by Simone and Nicky Zimmermann, the label is also a favourite of Beyoncé, Margot Robbie, Kendall Jenner, Sofia Richie and Nicky Hilton Rothschild.
