KATY Perry exposed more than she intended to when her dress gave way and exposed her rear as she was eagerly watching the Oscars at a viewing party.

The 32-year-old pop star was photographed with James Corden sitting backwards on a sofa so they could kneel and watch the announcements at this year’s 89th Academy Awards – but it appears she accidentally pulled on her dress splitting the gown slightly around the hip.

The move exposed the top of the star’s backside in the process – not that she seemed to mind.

Following her stunning performance at the BRIT Awards last week, Katy debuted another new look with a poker straight, bleach blond ‘do.

For the Vanity Fair event Katy arrived in a deep bronze dress that fit tightly as her hips and waist before flaring out at the bottom – showing off her killer pins and a pair of strappy stiletto heels.

She was joined at the event by fashion writer Derek Blasberg, and the pair got along famously and giggled the night away while her boyfriend Orlando Bloom was AWOL.

However, when the Pirates of the Caribbean hunk did arrive, the pair only had eyes for each other and look more loved up than ever after over a year of dating.

One of Perry’s backing dancers, dressed as a house, also plummeted off stage during the star’s comeback performance at The Brits.

Perry, in a black pinstripe suit and bralet, had been performing her comeback single Chained to the Rhythm — after recently vowing to “write more purposeful pop”.

The stage at London’s O2 soon became rammed with dancing houses, and one fell off the edge into the crowd.

But the Chained to the Rhythm pop songstress left her performing hat at home for the Oscar party and was purely out to be social, and gabbed on the sofa with Girls’ star Alison Williams.

Alison, who has landed herself a film smash in new horror Get Out, looked slick in a navy blue halterneck number partnered with a silver clutch.

While the after party’s are normally where the drama happens, that didn’t turn out to be the case Sunday night – when the most epic gaffe in Oscar history saw the wrong film get named Best Feature Film.

La La Land, which was the running favourite to bag the gong, was announced the winner – only for the team to discover once they were on stage that Moonlight had actually beaten them.

Moonlight is an indie movie based on a semi-autobiographical play written by Tarell Alvin McCraney.

It is a three part story telling the tale of Chiron, checking in on his life as a child, a teen and an adult.

The film follows Chiron’s attempts to adapt to the world in which he lives, dealing with a drug addicted mother and coming to terms with his sexuality.
