Instead the singer chatted to two of her girlfriends outside the cinema while puffing away on a cigarette. The bad habit will not be beneficial for the 27-year-old’s singing voice but she looked unconcerned as she got her nicotine fix.

As always the Wide Awake singer turned heads in a colourful ensemble as she lounged outside the famous Arclight movie theatre in Hollywood.

She sported a pretty floral playsuit which boasted a low-cut and showed off her ample cleavage, as well as her slim pins.

Katy tied her dark locks off her face in a low bun to beat the heat, and also donned sunglasses and simple black ballet pumps.

The pop star was joined by her close pal, Raising Hope actress Shannon Woodward, as well as another female friend.

Before going for a smoke break Katy bought a tub of popcorn to enjoy while watching the film.

The star also signed up for free movie tickets when she was approached by a member of the cinema staff.

The pair have been spotted enjoying each other’s company on several occasions recently and last week Katy was seen emerging from John’s car the day after a dinner date with him.
