It was super sweet to see more female rappers attend the star-studded Met Gala on Monday, May 1. Of course, superstar Cardi B graced the red carpet looking stunning along with the beautiful Doja Cat and Ice Spice. But the sweetest moment of the night came from rising star Scar Lip who attended the biggest night in entertainment for the very first time.
The New York rapper wore a gorgeous black dress style by Dorian Jihad and topped her look with a show-stopping gold headpiece. While her fans absolutely loved her look so did Cardi B who reposted a clip of her outfit and said, “I love her.”
After wrapping up her incredible night, Scar was left emotional and more thankful to not only attend the Met but also because she received love from Cardi.
“Cardi B just posted me, Scar says nearly in tears. “She’s from the Bronx bro. I’m from the Bronx. She showed us young girls we can make it and we can be somebody bro. I can’t f*cking believe this shit. We did it!”
Scar Lip is clearly on her way to the top. For the past few weeks the rapper has been going viral with her freestyles. She recently made a guest appearance on Hot 97 where she spit some hard bars and had the internet shaking and ready to hear more:
“You done f**ked wit’ the wrong one, but it’s all good, bust out the wrong gun, ’cause it’s all wood, life is like a box of chocolates covered in s**t, it’s like they never seem to warn you of how scary it gets, see, I try to understand why n**gas do the things they do, say the things they say, move the way they move, drink the way they drink, chew the way they chew, I just caught a homi’ and the bullet is the proof!,” she rapped.
During a sit-down with DJ Drewski earlier this month, Scar also opened up about her relationship with Swizz Beatz’ as she appeared on his Hip Hop 50: Vol. 2 EP. He’s also severs as an executive producer on her upcoming project:

In addition to Scar Lip, Sukihana recently showed love to Cardi B on the Jason Lee Show. Suki explained how she was thankful that the Bronx rapper included her in the WAP music video and made sure she was seen more in the visuals.
It’s safe to say that everyone loves Cardi and we can’t wait to see what all the female rappers have in store for 2023!
