On Monday, Grammy winner Cardi B and three-time Grammy winner Megan Thee Stallion announced they reunited for their second single called Bongos, which drops this Friday.
For the lollipop-licking cover art, the Bronx-born 30-year-old and the 28-year-old Texan took the plunge in custom Matthew Reisman thong leotards, which they paired with Jimmy Choo platform heels and massive bracelets.
The raunchy rappers coordinated in colorful curly wigs from Tresses x Sandrine, which were coiffed by Cardi’s hairstylist Mia (aka Tokyo Stylez) and Megan’s hairstylist Kellon Deryck, respectively.
The talented twosome are hoping lightning strikes twice considering their prior collaboration – the critically-acclaimed sex-positive hit WAP (Wet-A** P****) – spent four weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2020.
Rolling Stone and NPR praised the sexually-explicit track, which was produced by Ayo & Keyz and heavily sampled Frank Ski’s 1993 Baltimore club single Wh***s in This House.

Last year, WAP was certified 7× Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
The record-breaking music video – directed by Colin Tilley – amassed 510M views on YouTube thanks to cameos from two tigers, a leopard, snakes, Kylie Jenner, Normani, Rosalía, Latto, Sukihana, and Rubi Rose.
New York Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez even cleverly recoined the title ‘Women Against Patriarchy’ as it’s remarkable for two women to reach success in the typically misogynistic medium of hip-hop.
Cardi (born Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar Cephus) and Stallion (born Pete) have only performed together once live during the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards in 2021 where they rapped a medley of Up, Body, Savage Remix, and WAP.
Bongos came as a surprise considering the Jealousy rapper said in her September cover story for Vogue México that she was ‘not going to release any more collaborations’ before the release of her long-delayed second studio album.
‘I’m going to release my next solo single. Right now I’m working on the cover art and ideas for the next record because it’s definitely coming up,’ Cardi told the mag last month.
‘Everyone always tells me I should put the record out now, they did when I released WAP and when I released Up, but I always let them know I’m not going to wait long after all these singles. So stay tuned because it’s coming out very soon.’
The Point Me 2 rapper’s husband – three-time Grammy nominee Offset – sweetly showed his support for her career by reposting the Bongos single cover via Instastory with the caption: ‘It’s up, let’s go!’
