Singer Adele, 35, secretly married sports agent Rich Paul, 41, on some undisclosed date in recent months. But before that, the star made Paul sign a prenuptial agreement in order to protect his estimated fortune of 220 million dollars (about 1 billion reais, in current conversion).

The information was revealed by a source to the website RadarOnline, who also highlighted that Adele had not thought about the prenuptial agreement at first, but that she was convinced by her friends to protect her fortune before marriage.

“Adele has some trust issues, which is normal for her, but bringing up a marital contract has caused some friction between them,” the source explained. “She believes in love and says talking about anything money-related is a surefire romance killer.”

Paul is one of today’s great sports agents, responsible for managing the careers of high-level athletes such as LeBron James, his friend for more than two decades, and several NBA and NFL stars. The agent’s fortune is estimated at 120 million dollars (around 590 million reais, in current conversion).

Adele began speaking publicly about Paul as her “husband” from September, causing suspicions of a secret marriage to begin to emerge in the press. The singer confirmed that she was married during a comedy show held in November.
