The London born superstar, who has been four months sober, admitted to fans that her tolerance to wine has diminished badly.
And the Oscar winner even tries to stop getting sozzled by drinking sparkling water with her glasses of wine, which now have ice cubes in them.
Adele opened up on her booze battle after vowing to enjoy the upcoming holiday season after completing a year of critically acclaimed performances in Sin City.
The singer was upset to be suffering from a chesty cold, fever and illness, because it meant she could not celebrate her final performance.
She told the crowd: “I’m just going to chill. I’m annoyed as well that I’m sick because this is red wine weather.
“I stopped drinking, but obviously now I’m ready to start again because it is my break.
“And I can’t drink red wine ever when I’m singing because I don’t know about you, but red wine f***s me up. I cannot handle it.
“I’m a white wine girl, but not straight. But I can’t eat white wine anymore.
“I’m 35 going on 85. I have to have half and half. Half sparkling water and half white wine with ice.
“And I still get f****d. But a glass of red wine tips me over the edge.
“I have the worst hangover, my whole mouth and tongue turns red.
“I look like a disaster and it just gets rid of my voice.”
“So I was planning on drinking a bottle of Châteauneuf-du-Pape this week, but now I can’t because I am sick.”
‘SICK AS A DOG’
Adele performed her songs impeccably despite complaining about her sore throat and chest.
“I am sick like a f****** dog. I am f****** annoyed. I woke up this morning and my chest was on fire,” she said.
“I’m hoping I’ll be able to get some codeine from a doctor. They gave it to me a few years ago when I was sick here in America and I loved it. It’s terrible.
“I want to drink the codeine instead.
“So I don’t know what I’m going to do with this. I bought a bottle of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, a couple of weeks ago to treat myself, but I’ll have to save that for Thanksgiving. I guess that’s what I’m going to do then.”
BOOZE BAN
Adele made headlines in recent weeks discussing her alcohol consumption in the past.
Last month she told her fans: “It’s boring. I was literally borderline alcoholic for quite a lot of my twenties, but I miss it so much. I cut out caffeine.”
Talking to a fan, who’d been drinking all day she added: ‘So enjoy your whiskey sour. I’m very, very jealous.”
During many of her shows at The Colosseum, Adele joked with her audiences: “The more you drink, the better I sound.”
During her Saturday night show, the Tottenham born star became emotional about her success over the course of the last 12 months.
“I have absolutely loved doing this show and residency,” she said.
“For me it does a little bit feel like the end, even though I have my shows next year.”
PROUD MUM
However the proud mum to 11-year-old son Angelo, is keeping herself busy immediately this week – by volunteering at her son’s school.
“I have to make 60 chicken kebabs, I’m really thriving at the moment of signing up for things at my child’s school,” she said.
“So I did Halloween bagels and cookies and made sausage rolls and things like that. But I’ve taken it upon myself to be the best at it basically.
“So there’s a school event next week where there’s early giving thanks to the faculty and the teachers and everyone else is just donating money, I’m like, ‘I’m going homemade’.”
Adele also will do a photoshoot for The Hollywood Reporter after being honored with the Sherry Lansing Leadership Award at the annual Women in Entertainment breakfast gala in LA on December 7.
She admitted: ” I won a big fancy award. I can’t believe it because everyone else who has ever won is iconic.
