Adele was heartbroken when her son asked why her parents divorced

British singer Adele shares for the first time about her broken marriage and her young son’s heartbreaking questions when his parents are no longer together.

In an interview with Vogue magazine in November, Adele confided that she hopes her new album, which includes songs about divorce, will help her son Angelo understand what happened as an adult. Adele and charity chairman Simon Konecki broke up in April 2019 when their son was just 7 years old.

“The boy asked a lot of simple questions that I couldn’t answer, because I didn’t know the answers,” Adele said. “Like: Why do n’t mom and dad live together anymore? – That’s what people do when they get divorced – But why mom?. I can only say: I don’t know. Then the boy asked: Why doesn’t mom love dad anymore? I said: I love your father, I just don’t love him anymore. I can’t help a 9-year-old boy understand.”

Adele admitted she struggled with talking to her son about the split, making her so anxious that her therapist suggested recording it so she could remember what they talked about.

The 33-year-old star said she and her ex-husband had never argued in front of their children, so Angelo could not understand why her parents broke up. She herself could not explain clearly. “It’s just that things don’t fit anymore. I don’t want to fall into a deadlock. I would be miserable if I didn’t put myself first. Nothing really bad happened that led to divorce. None of us did anything wrong or hurt each other. I just want my son to see his mother loved and happy. That’s really important. I have been on the journey to find my true happiness since then,” Adele first opened up about the cause of the breakup.

The Some One Like You singer and Simon broke up peacefully for a long time before announcing it to the public. Even though she divorced, she did not regret being with Simon – a perfect man – and having children with him.

Adele confessed that her life is very happy now. The English nightingale moved to Los Angeles (USA) to settle down and her heart was revived. The female singer is currently dating Rich Paul – talent manager of American professional basketball stars. In an interview with Vogue , Adele shared her passionate new love for the first time. She said Rich Paul’s appearance in her life was a miracle and Adele felt like herself when she was with him.
